ImagineAI is built and operated by Kyle Maloney, who started building it in July 2024 and organized the company in Massachusetts in November 2025. He is a 2024 graduate of Stonehill College with a degree in finance, and he writes and maintains the platform himself — the writing tools, the classroom system, the illustration pipeline, and the print workflow that turns a finished manuscript into a bound book.

The product was shaped in classrooms rather than on a whiteboard. The first pilot ran at Norton Elementary School in October 2025 with a single teacher and grew to roughly ten teachers on word of mouth alone. In March 2026, Norton Middle School onboarded its entire sixth grade. A third-grade teacher in Easton ran two class print runs and sent 49 finished books home with her students. That June, Camp Gordon Clark at the South Shore YMCA ran a week-long writing program that ended with campers holding printed books.

Every school and program to date arrived the same way: one teacher recommending it to another. ImagineAI has spent nothing on marketing.
